Overview
NMI is a leading unified commerce enablement platform that empowers ISOs to deliver greater value to their merchants.
As a private-label payment gateway, NMI offers a suite of cutting-edge features designed to unlock new revenue opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
The Merchant Central NMI Gateway integration allows ISOs to onboard merchants directly from within the CRM—eliminating manual data entry and reducing setup time to under 10 seconds.
With robust automation and support for top processors such as Chase Paymentech, Elavon, Fiserv, TSYS, and Worldpay, the integration streamlines operations and minimizes errors.
It also helps partners grow through value-added services including Customer Vault, Invoicing, Mobile Payments, Encrypted Devices, Enhanced Data (Level III), iSpyFraud, QuickBooks SyncPay, and Payer Authentication.
Prerequisites
- Access to an active NMI Reseller account
- API Key with V4 API permission from your NMI portal
- Admin-level access to Merchant Central
- Your reseller login URL

- In Merchant Central, go to Manage → Integrations
- Click on the NMI - Boarding & Reporting option
How does NMI Gateway Integration work?
Once enabled, the NMI integration adds a new ticket type to your Helpdesk: "NMI – Create Gateway Account". This lets you board merchants directly from the Helpdesk or the Merchant Details page, using existing CRM data to prevent entry errors.
You can also configure pricing, default plans, required fields, and value-added services such as iSpyFraud and invoicing—helping ISOs scale faster while offering more to merchants.

Enabling the NMI Gateway Integration

Log in to your NMI Gateway account
Use the URL format:https://yourcompany.transactiongateway.com/resellers -
Generate your API Key
Go to Settings → Security Keys. - Enter a Key Name, select a user, enable 'V4 API' permission, then click Create New Key.
- Copy the key.

Add the API Key in Merchant Central
Navigate to Manage → Integrations → NMI - Boarding & Reporting.
Enter your account name, reseller login URL, and paste the API key.
(Optional) Mark as Default.
Click Test API Key and if successful, click Create New Account.

Manage or add additional accounts
Use the NMI Reseller Account dropdown to switch or update accounts.
Click Add New Reseller Account to add more, or edit permissions using the Manage Reseller Permissions button.
How to Configure NMI Integration Settings
To configure the settings of an active NMI reseller account, select the account from the NMI Reseller Account dropdown. Then scroll down to view and update its settings.
The available settings are organized into four sections:
- Merchant Required Fields
- Default Sub-Affiliate Plans, Fees, and Services
- Advanced Merchant Features
- Sub-Affiliate Configurations
Set Merchant Required Fields
Select required data fields like SSN, CVV, or Driver’s License. Click Save Required Fields to apply.
Configure Default Sub-Affiliate Plans, Fees, and Services
Choose default sub-affiliate, fee schedule, and value-added services like Customer Vault, Invoicing, or Mobile Payments. Click Save Defaults.
Enable Advanced Merchant Features
Select default options and click Save Features.
Create Sub-Affiliate
Optionally create a sub-affiliate and activate upon creation.
How to Board Merchants to NMI
From the Helpdesk, create a ticket using the type: “NMI – Create Gateway Account” and follow the instructions.
To update existing merchants, use the “NMI – Update Gateway Account” ticket type.
