Overview
Lead History gives partners and their teams a clear audit trail of important updates made to a Lead record in Merchant Central. This includes lead activity, such as status updates, user or group assignment changes, links between the Lead and other Leads or Merchants, and field-level revisions.
This article explains how to access the Lead History popup, review the Activity Log, and use the Field Revisions tab to search, sort, and export field change information for audit and review purposes.
Navigating to Lead History
Lead History is accessed directly from an individual Lead record in Merchant Central.
- Open the Lead record you want to review.
- Click the Actions tab.
- Click the Lead History button.
The Lead History popup opens with two tabs:
- Activity Log
- Field Revisions
How does Lead History work?
Merchant Central automatically tracks key updates made to Lead records. These updates are organized in the Lead History popup so partners and their teams can review both activity-level changes and field-level revisions from one location.
The Activity Log tab shows important Lead events, including assignment changes, status changes, group changes, and record linking activity.
The Field Revisions tab shows changes made to Lead fields, including previous and updated values, when the change was made, the source of the new value, and the user who made the modification.
How to view Lead Activity
- Open the Lead record you want to review.
- Click the Actions tab.
- Click the Lead History button.
- In the popup, click the Activity Log tab.
The Activity Log tab includes collapsible accordions that group activity by type. Click an accordion to expand it and view the related activity.
- Assignment Changes: Shows changes to the user assigned to the Lead.
- Status Changes: Shows changes made to the Lead status.
- Group Changes: Shows changes to group assignments for the Lead.
- Record Linking: Shows when the Lead is linked to another Lead or Merchant record.
How to view Field Revisions
- Open the Lead record you want to review.
- Click the Actions tab.
- Click the Lead History button.
- In the popup, click the Field Revisions tab.
The Field Revisions tab displays changes made to Lead fields, including:
- The name of the field that was changed.
- The old field value.
- The new field value.
- The date and time the field was modified.
- The source of the new value.
- The user who made the modification.
You can sort the field table by any column or use the Search box above the table to quickly locate a specific field. Click the Export button to export the Field Revisions information to a CSV or Excel file.
