Dynamic Splits are currently available for Beta testing.
Contact Support to enable.
The Dynamic Splits feature allows you to assign user splits dynamically based on users' sales volumes or the number of transactions.
To begin creating and assigning dynamic splits open the Dynamic Splits page by navigating to Manage > Residuals > Dynamic Splits:
Next, click the Add New Dynamic Split button to bring up the Add Dynamic Split popup:
You will now need to fill in the required split settings and set the split thresholds.
Here is a description of the options and actions in the dynamic split popup:
- Name: The name of the dynamic split as it will appear in reporting.
- Column: Select Volume or Transaction. Volume is the total sales amount for the user's entire portfolio in the published residual reports. Transaction represents the number of transactions for the user's entire portfolio in the published residual reports.
- Date Range: Select from one of pre-determined date ranges such as Last Calendar Quarter, Last Three Months, etc.
- Operation: This is the method of calculation that will be applied to the sales volume or the number of transactions. You can select Average or Sum.
- Add Rule: Use this button to add an additional threshold row in the bottom table in the dynamic split popup.
Here is an example of a dynamic split configuration with three threshold levels:
In the above example, a 10% split will be assigned to users whose total sales volume was under $300,000 in the last calendar quarter.
A 15% split will be assigned to users whose sales volume was between $300,000 and $500,000 in the last calendar quarter, and a 20% split will be assigned to users with more than $500,000 of total sales volume.
Once you configure your split options click Save and your configuration will show up in the dynamic splits list. From there, you can use the shortcuts in the Actions column to edit or delete the split.
Click on the gear icon in the Actions column to begin assigning the dynamic split to users now.
The Configure Dynamic Split popup appears with the Assign Users tab where you can select the desired users (use the filters to find users faster if needed).
Once you select your users hit the Apply button, and the splits will be assigned:
If you now proceed to assign a different dynamic split for additional users, note that the users you already assigned will be greyed out to prevent potential duplication:
The dynamic splits assignments can now be viewed on the user settings page of any user, where you can also see the history of split assignments:
For convenience, you can also assign a dynamic split to a user directly from the user settings page:
To apply a dynamic split to a residuals report with a date range in the past, click the Calculate Dynamic Splits button in the top-right corner, select the dynamic split and the report month and year, and click Calculate:
