Overview
Residuals reports allow administrators and other permitted users to review published residual data, understand how residuals are distributed, and examine the details behind each report. The Residuals page brings together overall totals, agent and group summaries, adjustments, and processor-specific reports.
- Summary View: Displays grand totals and group-level residual results. You can search for agents, filter by processor, view manager summaries, and drill down into an individual agent's residual data.
- Line Items: Displays additions and deductions that affect residual amounts. Administrators can add one-time adjustments or schedule recurring line items directly from the report. More info: Line Items
- Processor Reports: Provides a separate tab for each imported processor report, with Summary, Details, and Profitability views. You can review merchant-level results, view user splits, inspect the original imported data, and analyze profitability.
- Filtering and Customization: Filter reports by year, month, group, and user class, or add and remove columns from report views.
- Exporting and Sharing: Export residual data for all users or create separate Excel files for individual agents. Administrators can also email each agent their individual residual report directly from Merchant Central.
Use this feature to review residual calculations, understand how merchants and agents contribute to residual results, and distribute residual statements after reports are published.
Prerequisites
Before working with residuals, make sure that:
- You have the Residuals permission enabled on your user class.

Filter reports by year, month, group, and user class
Filter residuals reports
- On the Residuals page, click Filters
- Select the filters you want to apply
-
Apply the filters to update the report
Use Summary View
The Summary View tab displays residuals as Grand Totals and in a Group List, which shows residuals separately for each user group.
From the Summary View tab, you can filter data by processor, view manager summaries, and export residuals data as CSV or Excel files.
Click the filter icon next to an agent's name to view that agent's residual data.
Use the Search box in the table header to find an agent. Click the Gear icon to add or remove columns from the report table.
Use processor reports
The Residuals page displays a separate tab for each processor report imported into Merchant Central.
Each processor report contains three sub-tabs:
- Summary: Displays summarized residual results for the processor.
- Details: Displays the raw data imported from the processor report.
- Profitability: Displays profitability data for the processor.
The following image shows an example report for the Fiserv processor.
Publish or unpublish a processor report
The eye icon next to a report's name indicates whether the report is published.
Click the eye icon to unpublish the report. Click it again to republish the report.

Export residuals reports
Use the controls at the top of the Residuals page to export residuals data to CSV or Excel files.
The following export options are available:
- Export all as CSV
- Export all as XLS
- Export all as XLS in one-line format
- Export per agent as XLS
- Export per agent as XLS in one-line format
When you select a per-agent export option, Merchant Central creates a separate Excel file for each selected agent and bundles the files into a ZIP archive.
- Click Export → Export per Agent As XLS.
- Select the agents for whom you want to create reports.
- To email a report directly to an agent, select the agent's email address in the Email Report column.
-
Confirm your selections to begin the export.
-
When processing is complete, download the ZIP file.
ℹ️ If you selected agents in the Email Report column, each agent automatically receives an email with their Excel report attached. Merchant Central sends the email using the Residuals Export per Agent system email template.
You can also export data from the header of any report table. These exports include only the data currently displayed in the table.
One Line Format vs. Regular Residuals Export
The One Line Format provides a streamlined alternative to the regular residuals Excel export. While the regular export organizes processor summaries and line items into separate blocks for each processor, the One Line Format combines all records into a single, consistent row-and-column structure. Each record appears on one line, making the data easier to filter, sort, analyze, and import into other systems.
The One Line Format also includes the complete set of columns used across all processors. A column remains present even when it is disabled or inactive for a particular processor; in those cases, the corresponding cells are simply left blank.
By comparison, the regular export displays columns according to each processor’s individual visibility settings.
