Overview
Merchant Central users with ScanX connected can now see a merchant's complete Scorecard history — and launch new Scorecards — directly from the merchant record.
Previously, this integration lived only on the lead tab, which surfaced just one Scorecard tied to that lead. Now every Scorecard associated with a merchant (matched via Lead ID) rolls up onto the merchant record itself, giving underwriting and risk teams a full picture of past reviews in a single view.
Launching a new Scorecard is also no longer tied to changing a lead's status — a dependency that made it risky to run checks on merchants who were already live and processing, since a status change could skew reporting.
With this update, teams can trigger one-off checks (like verifying an ownership change or a new bank account) or run an off-cycle MonitorX check when something looks off, without ever touching the lead status.
Prerequisites
Before configuring ScanX and MonitorX for merchant records in Merchant Central, confirm that:
- You have a ScanX contract with NMI
- You have the ScanX → Merchant Central integration configured
- User has connected their ScanX and Merchant Central accounts
How do ScanX and MonitorX work in Merchant Central?
The Lead ID from the merchant’s linked lead is used to tie multiple ScanX records to the merchant to display their full Scorecard history. Both ScanX and MonitorX Scorecard types are shown in the reporting and can be launched in the UI.
The configured mapping groups enable a Scorecard to be launched from the merchant record. If no mapping groups have been set up, then no scorecards will be displayed to launch. A new mapping group type is used to separate the existing status trigger flow from launching ad-hoc Scorecards to limit any potential impact one has on the other.
When a user launches a Scorecard from the merchant record, it is ultimately using the lead data from the linked lead record. This is because lead field data can be updated by Merchant Central users so you can run checks on net new data that the merchant reporting may not have.
All of these capabilities are driven by the core integration between the two platforms that already exists and is a prerequisite to using the new functionality. In order to view and launch Scorecards in Merchant Central, the user also needs to be a ScanX user and have their accounts for each tool connected.
Enabling ScanX and MonitorX in Merchant Central
To enable the feature, configure the Scorecards that can be launched, grant the appropriate Merchant Central user class permission, and connect each user's Merchant Central and ScanX accounts.
Create a mapping group
Complete these steps for each ScanX or MonitorX Scorecard that should be available to launch from a merchant record.
- In ScanX, expand the Administration menu.
- Go to Integrations → Merchant Central → Map Fields.
- The Merchant Central Integration Manager page opens.
- Select the Transaction (Scorecard) you want to enable in Merchant Central.
-
Click + New Mapping Group and enter a name for the mapping group.
-
Select Trigger Scorecard from Merchant Central as the mapping group type.
- Select the model ID for the Scorecard, then click Next.
- Configure the mapping group. We recommend selecting Import existing mapping group to reuse the mapping already used to retrieve data from the Merchant Central lead record. You can also create a new mapping or import a previously exported mapping.
- Select the same Transaction (Scorecard) that you selected in step 4.
-
Select the existing mapping group you want to reuse. If the ScanX and Merchant Central integration is already configured, there should typically be a GET mapping group used to retrieve data from the Merchant Central lead record for the existing status-change workflow.
- Click Save, then click Confirm to create the mapping group.
- Review the field mappings and update them if needed. The imported mapping should typically work without changes. If you make changes, click the save icon.
Enable the Merchant Central user class permission
- In Merchant Central, open the left navigation panel.
- Go to Manage → User Classes.
- Click Permissions for the user class you want to update.
- Scroll to the Underwriting section.
-
Enable ScanX Scorecards on Merchants.

- Click Personal Details.
- Click Generate Merchant Central API Token.
- Copy the generated token.
