The recording settings allow you to configure if calls placed to, or originating from specific area codes will be recorded automatically.
To edit your recording settings go to Manage > Administration > Dialer > Recording Settings.
The Manage Communications Settings page will open, with the Recording Settings tab selected:
You may configure the recording settings separately for outgoing and incoming calls.
If you will be using the same rules both for outgoing and incoming calls, then you may copy your outgoing call settings to the incoming call settings (and vice versa) by clicking the Copy To Incoming button on the Outgoing tab (or by clicking the Copy to Outgoing button on the Incoming tab).
To enable automatic recording for calls placed to, or originating from a specific area code, select the checkbox for that area code on the Outgoing or the Incoming tab. To disable the automatic recording, deselect the checkbox.
You may also reset all area codes to their default state at any time using the Reset To Default button:
Note that the following states have adopted two-party consent laws for call recording:
- New Hampshire
The area codes belonging to these states are by default deselected.
Regardless of your default recording settings, users may always turn on call recording while on the call by toggling the Recorder button on the Dialer:
