Custom properties can be nested to visually represent their hierarchical relationships within a lead.
Example: Dropdown Hierarchy
When custom properties are structured in a hierarchy, they appear in nested dropdowns, ensuring a clear and logical selection process.
By implementing nesting, you can also ensure users select the correct combinations of dropdown values.
For example, if the first dropdown is set to 'Elavon', the second dropdown will only display pricing models associated with the Elavon processor—excluding models linked to other processors:
How to Nest a Custom Property
To nest a custom property:
- When editing the property, select the Parent Property from the Parent dropdown.
- Save your changes.
For instance, if you create a new custom property called 'Pricing Details' and set 'Pricing Model' as its parent, it will automatically be nested under 'Pricing Model' in the hierarchy:
Nesting Custom Property Values
Nesting can also be applied at the value level, allowing individual custom property values to be linked to a parent property. This ensures an organized and structured selection process.
