A custom property can be set up to automatically populate lead fields with predefined information based on the selected dropdown value.
In this article, we'll guide you through configuring autofill settings using the 'Processor' custom property we discussed in the Custom Properties Overview article.
Step 1: Access Custom Property Settings
To get started, navigate to Manage > Leads > Custom Properties and click the Edit button next to the 'Processor' property:
Step 2: Mapping Reference Info Fields to Lead Fields
A settings popup will appear, displaying the reference info fields associated with the 'Processor' property.
You can now link these fields to the corresponding lead fields by clicking the pencil icons on the right:
For example, to map the 'Contact Person' reference info field to the 'Processor Contact' field on the lead:
- Click the pencil icon next to 'Contact Person.'
- Select 'Processor Contact' from the lead fields dropdown.
- Save your changes.
Repeat this process for all other reference info fields.
Once completed, your mappings should resemble those shown in the table below.
Name | Field Type | Auto Update Lead Field |
Name | Text | Processor Name |
Contact Person | Text | Processor Contact |
Support Phone Number | Phone Number | Processor Email |
Support Email | Processor Phone |
Note: If the processor fields listed in the 'Auto Update Lead Field' column are missing from your lead, you can add them via the Manage Lead Fields page.
Step 3: Entering Field Values for Each Processor
With the fields mapped, you’ll now need to enter the values that will be auto-filled when a processor is selected.
- Click Add/Remove Values on the 'Processor' property.
- On the Property Values page, locate the Elavon processor, click the pencil icon, enter the appropriate reference field values, and save.
- Repeat the process for the Fiserv processor.
Step 4: Testing the Autofill Feature
Your setup is now complete! Try it out on the lead page:
- Selecting 'Elavon' in the dropdown will trigger a confirmation message. After confirming, the 'Processor' property updates to 'Elavon,' and the four configured fields will be populated with Elavon-specific information.
- Selecting 'Fiserv' will update the fields again, this time with Fiserv's information.
Important: After the fields are auto-filled, click the Save button in the top-right corner to ensure your changes are retained, as they are not saved automatically.
